Arizona-Based Plaintiffs Dismiss D.C. Lawsuit Against V.P. Pence

The election challenge filed against Vice President Pence in the D.C. District Court by various Arizona-based plaintiffs – including Sen. Borrelli, Sen. Petersen, and the Arizona Voter Integrity Alliance – was voluntarily dismissed this morning after a federal judge denied a preliminary injunction earlier this week and excoriated the plaintiffs for having brought the case in the first place. The judge had found the plaintiffs alleged factually contradictory statements (both disclaiming and claiming fraud at the same time), lacked standing, had not established personal jurisdiction in D.C., and set forth a constitutional argument (that only state legislatures could literally select presidential electors) that was simply incorrect.

The first rule of holes is to stop digging. Smart move to voluntarily dismiss.
